Browsing in a bookstore is one of life’s great pleasures, but in this digital day and age, brick-and-mortar bookstores are becoming harder to find. But Ashburn will be the test site for a new and very different type of Barnes & Noble bookstore.
Already under construction at One Loudoun, the new 18,000-s.f. Barnes & Noble will be one of four that the chain is building as an experiment, hoping to shore up the book sales amidst a changing industry.
The new Barnes & Noble will feature a full-service style restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. An executive chef is designing the menu. Besides it’s usual coffee house menu, the One Loudoun location will also offer beer and wine. It might even have a fire pit and a bocce court like the ones planned for the first new concept store being opened in Eastchester, New York.
