The Sushi Noshi restaurant in the Cameron Chase Village Center (better known to many as Ice Rink Plaza) is under new ownership and will soon undergo a name change as well.
The restaurant will become Tanuki Japanese Restaurant. Currently, the Sushi Noshi sign is still up and the menu is unchanged. But managers say — rest assured — once the new Tanuki sign goes up, they will keep offering all the current sushi choices while also offering some special news dishes as well.
No word yet on when the change will take place. That apparently depends on when the appropriate paperwork and permitting is processed by the county.
Interestingly, a “tanuki” is a real Japanese animal, similar in appearance to a raccoon, that has long played a role in Japanese mythology. That being said, The Burn has no idea if that has anything to do with Sushi Noshi’s new name.
What a shame, Sushi Noshi quietly was one of the best restaurants in Ashburn. I hope it doesn’t change too much.
