Coal Fire Pizza, a small Maryland-based chain, is opening not one, but two new locations in Loudoun County. While they aren’t in Ashburn proper, they’re close enough (Sterling, South Riding) that we wanted to let you know.
The restaurant specializes in handmade dough that is topped with fresh ingredients and then baked in a 900-degree coal fired oven. The brand’s motto is “Charred to Perfection.”
Unlike some of the fast casual pizza places that have popped up around the area, Coal Fire is sit-down, full-service including a bar. Besides the gourmet pizzas, Coal Fire also offers sandwiches, pastas and salads on its menu.
There are currently six Coal Fire locations open. The Loudoun locations will be No. 7 and No. 8 when they open at the hopping Cascades Overlook in Sterling and the sprawling Dulles Landing Shopping Center on Route 50 south of Brambleton. They are scheduled to open to customers in March.
