SQUISITO PIZZA & PASTA OPENING IN ASHBURN VILLAGE

The Maryland-based chain will open its first Loudoun County location later this summer.

A new Italian-style restaurant is coming to the Ashburn Village Center. It’s called Squisito Pizza & Pasta and it’s going into the corner unit next to Urban Bar-B-Que Company.

Squisito is part of a 7-unit chain in the greater D.C. area — six locations are in Maryland. There’s one in Lorton, Virginia. The Ashburn location will be its second in Virginia and No. 8 overall.

The menu is full of hearty Italian staples including an extensive pizza menu, pasta dishes such as Chicken Marsala, Baked Ziti and Shrimp Scampi. They also offer appetizers, soups, salads and sub sandwiches.

Squisito is pronounced skwi-zee-toe and means exquisite or excellent in Italian. (Personally, we’re going to call it “Squeezy Toe” as a way to remember how to say it.) It’s taking over the space that for many years was a California Tortilla location. Look for Squisito Pizza & Pasta to open late this summer.
