WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

“Protection” — not sure you’re using that word correctly.

Ashburn resident Liz Schnelzer snapped this photo at the corner of Croson Lane and Belmont Ridge Road. Not sure what trees they’re protecting, but we think we need to call the Lorax stat!

(If you see or take a funny, newsworthy, surprising or just plain beautiful photo somewhere in Ashburn, send it to us with a few details at and we might be able to share it with the community here on The Burn.)

We need to call our representatives. I saw this sign too. What a joke. Very sad.

I saw a sign similar to that in another construction zone once before. No trees there either. Weird right.

Lol. Thinking more about it. Note to construction workers: You keep using that word- I do not think it means what you think that it means…..

Its been that way ever since Ryan Homes stripped that field. The only trees left are along the football fields, and they took some out of there, too. But that is the lesson about tree conservation areas. The county planning board has those in every development, along with natural areas. However, as iI was told by a Senior Planner, what the HOAs and residents do after the fact, we have no control over that. We have no resources to enforce what is on the county approved Plat. I was trying to get my HOA to stop mowing, and killing, the tree conservation areas. I was told, we dont care what is on the plat. So there you go.
