YOGI CASTLE FROYO CLOSES AT LOUDOUN STATION

The store, part of a small Maryland chain, reportedly shut its doors last week.

After only about a year in business, a small frozen yogurt shop in Ashburn’s Loudoun Station development has closed its doors permanently. According to neighboring businesses, Yogi Castle Premium Frozen Yogurt closed last week.

The shop was in a tough location — towards the back of the current development, several doors away from the cluster of restaurants at the main intersection. Eventually, when the center is more built out, the spot will be centrally located. But not yet.

Yogi Castle is a small regional chain that has nine other locations, most of them in Maryland. No word on what will replace it at Loudoun Station.

    That was fast!
Now let’s forget all this froyo nonsense. Will someone please open a real ice cream shop?

Abbott’s Frozen Custard is supposed to be coming to Cascades Overlook. Custard is good stuff.

Yes, I know about Abbott’s impending arrival- anxiously awaiting it. I wish Milwaukee Frozen Custard had made it here in Ashburn but their location was terrible with no real anchor tenant in that shopping center, the one with Rubino’s in it. Meadows FC is not very good in my opinion.
The best custard in the area was in Vienna, called Neilsen’s- terrific, family owned place that served the best chocolate custard I’ve ever had but sadly they closed.
Alas, custard is not ice cream as anyone in the know will tell you and there is nothing quite like a good quality, old fashioned, homemade ice cream parlor.

The Metro delay is hurting all their business. Once it arrives it will be a busy little area.
