SIGNS UP, DOORS OPEN AT THE FRENCH HOUND

The new French brasserie in Lansdowne has been quietly welcoming diners for several weeks.

The new French Hound Brasserie opened quietly in the Lansdowne Town Center a few weeks back — what’s known in the restaurant biz as a “soft opening.” No fanfare, no big celebration — just quietly opening their doors and welcoming customers as they worked out the kinks and perfected their service.

This week saw the long-awaited installation of the French Hound’s sign and custom awnings, featuring their hound logo. The hound appears throughout the restaurant, including on some etched glass partitions. We loved how the sunlight streaming through them cast an image of the hound on the wall.

The Burn got the chance to try a variety of dishes from the restaurant’s menu, including their French Onion soup, a Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio, a Steak Frites with Béarnaise (not pictured because we ate it too fast) and, of course, their crusty French baguette. If you like French cuisine, you’re in good hands here.
