LEESBURG PEI WEI CALLS IT QUITS

The fast-casual Chinese restaurant has shut down after nearly a decade in business.

After roughly a decade in Leesburg, the town’s Pei Wei fast-casual Chinese restaurant has closed up shop. Located in the Leesburg Plaza near the Party City and the new Books-A-Million store, the restaurant was a staple of the center for years.

A sign affixed to the doors says the location has closed and they apologize for the inconvenience. The two nearest Pei Weis are at the Dulles 28 Centre in Sterling and on Woodland Crossing Drive in Herndon.

No word on why the location closed. We do find it interesting that just as Leesburg is getting a new Panda Express restaurant a couple of miles away in front of Kohl’s and Target (info per Leesburg mayor Kelly Burk), the next nearest Chinese food chain closes up shop. Maybe there’s only room for one.

No loss in my opinion. Taipei Cafe is a great takeout and makes an awesome General Tso’s Shrimp and its a lunch special that comes with an egg roll, fried rice and a soda for $6.95.

I heard that the reason they closed was the rent was raised a considerable amount.

Thai pan – in the liberty gas station between market and loudoun and the loudoun supervisors building. – awesome thai food plus selection of other Asian dishes. And NOT A CHAIN! China King on king street awesome as well – not a chain! Want some terrific Vietnamese food? Xuan Saigon on Fort Evans road – same building as Anita’s. – standard pho or Vietnamese noodle dishes as well as other Asian fare. Oh, and it’s NOT A CHAIN!!

sad day. Love the Monday kids eat free. food was pretty good. Military discount was very nice. Other comments above are unfounded. China King is the worse ever. Bad parking, bad service, terrible food. No tip required at PW. Dem lettuce wraps though!
