YEN’S KITCHEN & SUSHI BAR OPENING AT ASHBURN EATS PLAZA

The new restaurant will offer a Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese-inspired menu.

A new Asian fusion restaurant will be opening in the Ashburn Eats restaurant plaza — possibly by the end of the year. The new restaurant is going to be called Yen’s Kitchen & Sushi Bar and will feature a menu specializing in Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese cuisine. It’s taking over the space vacated by Kapao Asian Kitchen, which closed in early 2016.

If you’re wondering where the Ashburn Eats plaza is — that’s apparently the fancy name for the center on Waxpool Road where Five Guys, Moe’s Southwest Grill, The V Social Eatery & Brewhouse and other restaurants are located. (We’ve always just called it the Ashburn Restaurant Plaza.)

Renovations on the space are underway and Yen’s Kitchen & Sushi Bar hopes to open by Christmas.

Also, several readers have wondered if this new Yen’s is related to the Yen’s Cafe in Ashburn behind the Shoppes at Ryan Park near the Home Depot. We’re told that several sisters own Yen’s Cafe, and that one of the sisters is breaking off to open her own place. No other details on that interesting little twist.
