BARNES & NOBLE SCHEDULED TO OPEN THANKSGIVING WEEK

The new bookstore features an in-store restaurant serving meals as well as beer and wine.

Excitement is building for area book lovers over the new Barnes & Noble Bookstore opening at Ashburn’s One Loudoun center. Construction is wrapping up and now we are getting official word they are planning to open the week of Thanksgiving.

A peek through the paper covered windows shows that signage is up inside the store, shelves are in place and many of them are already filled with books. At one end of the store, passers-by can see the Barnes & Noble Kitchen coming together, an in-store restaurant that will tentatively serve soups, salads, sandwiches and more along with wine and beer. (We haven’t seen the final menu, so stay tuned.)

The official word from Barnes & Noble HQ is that they are planning on opening Thanksgiving week if everything stays on schedule. Recently hired store employees says they’ve been told B&N will open the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), be closed on the holiday and then re-open for good on Black Friday (Nov. 24).
