NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE’S CLOSING IN LANSDOWNE

The last day for the restaurant will be Nov. 29.

In a surprise Sunday morning announcement, the Not Your Average Joe’s location in the Lansdowne Town Center has announced that it is closing. It’s last day in business will be Nov. 29.

We will miss this beautiful community and all the wonderful people we’ve come to know here,” the restaurant said in a social media post, calling it part of the natural business cycle. “This is not goodbye, but a thank you.”

The restaurant — which has been in Lansdowne for nearly 11 years — was the first for the Massachusetts-based chain in the greater D.C. area. There are now five other NYAJ’s in the area, including one near the Reston Town Center. The company says all the local employees have been offered jobs at other locations.

The departure of the Not Your Average Joe’s (and it’s incredible bread and dipping oil) will be a blow to the shopping center, which has seen an influx of new restaurants recently, including the French Hound Brasserie, a Ford’s Fish Shack and Sugar Shack Donuts, which is coming soon to an adjacent property.
