Ashburn is reportedly going to be one of the first American locations for a Lidl grocery store. The German discount grocer is looking at a site in the new development going up at the northwest corner of Claiborne Parkway and Broadlands Boulevard.
Lidl, which rhymes with “needle,” has more than 10,000 locations in 27 countries across Europe. It recently opened its new American headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. Lidl’s main competitor is Aldi, another German chain that has operated in the U.S. for decades.
Overseas, Lidl is known for having smaller stores, a more limited selection and carrying many store brand products. There is usually a small charge for shopping bags and customers bag their own groceries and are encouraged to re-use bags. No word yet on whether an Ashburn store would definitively follow this model.
I would like to post an event on The Burn website who do I contact can you please send me a name and phone number or email?
Hi Ken. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have a dedicated events page, so we only post flyers/posters for events that benefit a charitable organization. And even then, we post no more than 1-2 a week, so it’s usually first come, first serve. You can submit your professionally designed flyer/poster to and we’ll take a look at it and certainly share it if we can. Thanks!
Thanks for information. We are charitable organization. I’ll pass the information to the appropriate person.
Thanks again for your help
