NEW URGENT CARE CENTER EYEING ASHBROOK COMMONS

An ExpressCare location may take over the end unit that used to be a bicycle shop.

Besides Starbucks, there is another business that seems to be popping up a lot lately around Ashburn and nearby communities: we’re talking about urgent care centers.

An Act Fast center opened in the Broadlands in 2015. A CareNow location just opened at Potomac Run Plaza in the old Friendly’s Restaurant space, and now comes word that the Ashbrook Commons shopping center may be getting one called ExpressCare.

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers is reportedly looking to take over the end unit vacated more than a year ago when the bicycle shop Spokes Etc. moved to the Village at Leesburg.

ExpressCare is a Maryland-based chain of urgent care centers with 30 locations around Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware. There aren’t any Virginia locations listed on the company’s website, meaning the Ashburn location could be their first in the state.

As an aside, we get a kick out of the company’s website address: whywaitintheer.com.
