CAPTAIN CATOCTIN’S CRAB HOUSE OPENING JULY 4TH

The new crab house in downtown Leesburg will specialize in fresh Maryland blue crab.

The long-awaited grand opening of LoCo’s newest crab house is coming up next week. Captain Catoctin’s Crabs & Concoctions has announced they will open their doors to eager seafood fans on July 4.

The restaurant, located at 14 Loudoun Street SE, in downtown Leesburg has been in the months for works. Today, the owners held a sneak preview to show off their new space — including indoor seating for more than 40 guests and an outdoor patio that can hold 150.

The menu’s primary focus will be fresh Maryland blue crab but there will be other dishes including shrimp, crab cakes and clams. Captain Catoctin’s will be open Tuesday through Sunday wth a special brunch menu on the weekends.

    From the pictures I see, I worry about the size of the tables. Crab houses need big tables, people tend to spread out and come in larger groups than just two. This is a problem at Lowry’s if you eat indoors- you end up putting stuff on the floor just to make room for your crabs.
    Otherwise, I’m very much looking forward to CC’s opening, although I know it will be crowded for several weeks so I probably won’t go or will try to go at an off time. Lowry’s quality has slipped so badly over the past couple of summers that it is good to see some competition for them, maybe they will wake up and do things the right way and we will have two good crab houses nearby (Captain Mas is not even in the discussion- way, way over priced for tiny crabs).
