BAKER’S CRUST AIMING FOR AUGUST 21 OPENING

The restaurant is well known in Southeast Virginia for its from-scratch, fresh-baked European style breads.

The eagerly anticipated Ashburn location of Baker’s Crust Artisan Kitchen is scheduled to open to the public for dinner (around 4 p.m.) on Monday, August 21. We knew things were getting close when the signs on the facade of the building were recently installed.

The new restaurant, opening in the hot Belmont Chase shopping center near Claiborne Parkway and Russell Branch Parkway, will have a soft opening for several days over the weekend with invited guests before opening their doors wide on Monday the 21st.

The restaurant, the first in Northern Virginia, is part of a Virginia Beach-based chain with six additional locations around the Tidewater area. It will feature fresh baked breads, artisan style cooking, a full bar and an open air rooftop dining space.

Will they also have a to-go bakery counter?

This sounds amazing! My husband and I cant not wait to try it! And I want to bring all my friends here to try this place out too! I love fresh authentic food! And a fire pit? I know where I will be this fall…. 🙂

We went for dinner on Tuesday. The Happy Hour is great, $5 wines (6oz pours) and all drafts (craft beers like Allegash white) as well as the food. We got a pizza for our son for $6, and it ended up being a 10-12″ cheese pizza, Neapolitan style. Good stuff. Foodwise, I had the Poke, which i’d highly recommend for a lighter dinner, and my wife got the salad/sandwich combo. All fair prices and service was good, but might of been his first time. All good though. Definitely going back and checking out the rooftop fire pit when it gets colder.

Slider trio has beef, lamb and sashimi grade tuna. Excellent – except that the kitchen needs to not overcook the tuna 🙂 We went the first week, will go back regularly. Outstanding menu, friendly staff, many options from rooftop to bar to regular seating indoors. Also not too noisy.

Had dinner with friends at Bakers Crust last Saturday evening and sat upstairs outside. While the food was very good and service as well, there was a party of about 6 couples sitting at one of the nearby tables whike their children, ages 7-11ish sat at another. The children were very raucous, noisy, pushing and shoving each other The entire evening, and the parents appeared to be oblivious to their children even being there! When we spoke to management about the disturbance and loud noise, they informed us they were unable to approach the parents re the children’s behavior, but that to compensate us, they would provide dessert for everyone at our table! When you’re with others who accept the dessert, once again, you are held hostage and reluctantly do the same! Unfortunately, we will not return!
