CONEY ISLAND DINER IN ASHBURN CHANGES NAME, MENU

The diner has added Indian food and kabobs to the menu, but still kept many of the old dishes as well.

Lots of people enjoyed a relaxing breakfast or a quick lunch at the Coney Island Diner, just off Route 7 in Ashburn. But apparently not enough — and the need to boost the lunch and dinner crowd has led to a new name and a tweaked menu. The Coney Island Diner is now known as Apna Kabob.

Now before Coney Island fans get too worried, there’s good news: much of the Coney Island menu remains, especially the many breakfast dishes. Best as we can follow, they are maintaining much of the old menu, while also adding plenty of new Indian dishes and kabobs and even a buffet in order to draw new customers.

They are rolling out the new menu slowly, so not everything is available yet. But you can check out what they have planned here. Meanwhile, the Coney Island Diner location in Purcellville remains open and the unchanged, according to employees there.

(H/t to Burn reader Jason Pualoa for the heads up about the name change.)

HAHAHAHA. Really? Who the heck would go to a Kabob place expecting breakfast? There is NO WAY this concept works. The breakfast menu will remain in place for about a month I suspect and by then, all the regulars will have found another place to go and breakfast will disappear.
