SANTINI’S NEW YORK STYLE DELI LOOKING AT ASHBURN LOCATION

The popular deli chain has six locations in Northern Virginia.

It appears the popular local deli chain Santini’s has their sights on a location in Ashburn. The Burn has learned they’re looking at a spot in the Ashburn Eats restaurant plaza near the intersection of Waxpool Road and Loudoun County Parkway. (The same center with Moe’s and Five Guy’s.)

Santini’s New York Style Deli is based here in Northern Virginia and currently has six locations — Sterling, Oakton, Reston, Fairfax, Chantilly and McLean. The Sterling location was its first — back in 2003. The Santini’s menu is primarily made up of pizzas, calzones and lots of different subs and sandwiches. (The space they’re looking at was most recently a pizza place called Pizza Go Round. It closed in 2012.)

We’ve reached out to Santini’s for more details. If the Ashburn Eats location is firm go, no word yet on when they might open — likely some time in 2018. If nothing else changes, and Santini’s opens and the new Yen’s Kitchen & Sushi Bar opens as expected next door, it will be the first time that restaurant center has been full in roughly five years.

Meh, there’s already one in Sterling and Chantilly.

What Loudoun needs is a Jason’s Deli.
