MISSION BBQ MOVING INTO FORMER APPLEBEE’S BUILDING

The popular BBQ chain will open its first Loudoun location in Sterling.

Last month, The Burn broke the news that the fast-growing chain Mission BBQ was planning their first Loudoun County location, likely in Sterling. Now, we’ve confirmed with the company that they have found their spot — they’ll be taking over the former Applebee’s restaurant building off Route 7 in Sterling. Applebee’s closed in early October.

For the uninitiated, Mission BBQ is a fast-casual restaurant featuring a menu specializing in various meats such Oak Smoked BrisketHand Pulled Pork and St. Louis-style Spare Ribs. Sides include Mac-N-CheeseBaked Beans and Hand Cut Fries.

The Maryland-based company is also well-known for their actual mission. Besides selling meat, the theme, decor and focus of each Mission BBQ is America’s heroes — namely our military, our veterans and our first responders. The brand actively supports organizations such as the USO and the Honor Flight Network.

There are nearly 60 Mission BBQ locations open or coming soon in 13 states. Company reps say they are currently hiring restaurant managers for the Sterling location with a target of opening for business sometime in Spring 2018.
