The date has moved back a couple of weeks.

Royal Farms

UPDATE: The official opening date of Royal Farms in Ashburn is March 19.

Fried chicken fans are going to have to wait just a little longer to get their fix at the new Royal Farms gas station and convenience store opening in Ashburn. An early target of this coming weekend has slid by a couple of weeks.

As with any new business, target opening dates are always fluid based on the wrap up construction, arrival of permits and licenses, hiring and training of staff and so forth. We spoke to the store manager, who said that they hope to hold a grand opening in roughly the third week of March. However, he didn’t want to lock in to that timeline in case any hiccups were to arise.

Royal Farms is well-known for the fast-food friend chicken restaurant inside most locations, including the new Ashburn store. Our location also has more than 20 gas pumps.

Royal Farms sits near the intersection of Broadlands Boulevard and Claiborne Parkway. It’s part of a big push by the company into Virginia. Another location is slated for South Riding in Loudoun. The Ashburn RoFo sits next to the new Lidl grocery store, which has a grand opening scheduled for March 8.

Dang….I was planning to be there on March 3rd to some chicken! It better be worth the wait.

Jim. The chicken is very good. It’s in the same ball park as Popeye’s or Roy Roger’s. I think some of the excitement – at least in the south half of Ashburn – is that it will be the closest fried chicken. KFC and Popeye’s are both out of the way for some neighborhoods, so this fills a gap.
