GREAT FALLS TURNED INTO RAGING RAPIDS

Recent rains have swollen the Potomac River at the picturesque Great Falls in Fairfax County.

This may not be Ashburn or even Eastern Loudoun, but it’s close — and when we see something this cool, we’ve got to share.

The Burn imagines that many of us — if not most of us — have traveled over to see the beautiful waterfalls at Great Falls in Fairfax County. But we bet you haven’t often seen them looking like this. Recent heavy rains have swollen the Potomac and temporarily obscured most of the “falls,” replacing them with a raging rapids.
