POTOMAC RIVER RUNNING OPENING SECOND ASHBURN STORE AT ONE LOUDOUN

The new store is expected to open early this summer.

With all our great parks and trails, Ashburn and greater Loudoun County are a wonderland for runners. So it’s no wonder that Potomac River Running is about to open their second location in Ashburn. The new store is going into a spot at One Loudoun across from the Barnes & Noble bookstore.

It will be the ninth PRR store overall in Northern Virginia. Other area locations include Leesburg and Reston.

No official opening date has been set yet, but employees tell us the new store is already being stocked and the PRR team is hoping to open by the end of June. Otherwise almost certainly in July — right in the heart of running season here in The Burn.

I’m happy 1L is working on more retail, but I hope to see more than hobbyist stores like this and the cycling shops that seem to be a requisite in every Loudoun development. No shade to the many runners and cyclists in the area. But, I think that population is more than covered. Can we please get some retail like Merrifield, Reston or even Village at Leesburg?

I agree with Charlie. 1L would benefit by mirroring what Reston Town Center did. A Sur La Table, an Apple store, another high-end restaurant, GAP, a make-up store, etc. Reston Town Center model has worked and long lasting…I’m hoping to hear some news about what’s being planned for that Uptown location and I hope it includes a couple of the spots I mentioned.
