WORK UNDERWAY ON MAHANA POKE
The first signs for Mahana Poke have appeared in the windows of the former Firenza Pizza at Loudoun Station off Shellhorn Road in Ashburn. You’ll recall the Firenza location closed a couple of months ago, and The Burn broke the news that a new poke restaurant would be taking over the space. It looks like work is underway inside, but no word yet on when Mahana might open.
NEW PET STORE NAMED “GOOD DOG ROCKY” COMING TO BRAMBLETON
Pet owners in Brambleton will soon have a new place to get their supplies. A store with the cute name “Good Dog Rocky” has leased a spot in the Brambleton Town Center. It’s taking part of the corner unit near One Life Fitness that used to be Bicycle Outfitters. No details about the store yet nor word on when it will open, but we saw construction workers in the space today.
LITTLE NEST PORTRAITS CLOSED AT VILLAGE AT LEESBURG
A portrait studio at the Village at Leesburg that specialized in photos of families and children has closed. Little Nest Portraits recently shut its doors after only about a year in business. The Burn started hearing rumors that things weren’t going well at the location several months ago.
Okay, these “Poke” restaurants are opening everywhere. What exactly is “Poke”? I appreciate the help!

Basically a salad or rice bowl with raw fish on top.
Definitely not my cup of tea, but its a hot thing right now.
It was really populate about 5 years ago, the wave has crashed most fo the poke shops in DC are closing.
