Keep your Saturday afternoon clear. You’re going to want to grab the kids and head out to the “Monster Mash Extreme Pumpkin Edition Fall Festival” at the Village at Leesburg.
Get a load of what they’ve got lined up:
- A pumpkin carving contest with expert pumpkin carvers, including Nancy Baker of the Food Network’s “Halloween Wars.”
- Halloween Cookie Decorating Station led by Santos Tiptur, owner and chef at the red hot The Conche restaurant (and also a veteran of “Halloween Wars”).
- Pastry chef Jason Reaves, two-time winner of the “Food Network Challenge,” will be making a six-foot-tall sculpted mummy cake.
- A kids costume contest at 4 p.m. will be followed by a parade though the center led by a green-skinned Frankenstein’s monster.
There will also be live music, balloon artists, slime making and more. The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 20 at the VaL.
