Churrology, the popular gourmet churro shop, has announced this weekend will be their last in downtown Leesburg. Moving forward, the brand will be a “pop up” business, appearing at various locations and events around the greater DC area.

Churrology made the announcement this morning via social media. “We regret to inform you guys that this will be our last weekend in Leesburg due to some circumstances,” the post read. “We want to thank the Leesburg community for the welcome in our short time here.”

Churrology opened in September 2017.

The shop — where patrons dined on the popular fried Spanish pastry covered in custom toppings — has been leasing space inside the B Doughnut store at 7 Loudoun Street SW. B Doughnut will continue to operate from the location.

Wow. What is it about Loudoun County that is so hard on restaurants? They seem to come in with great fanfare and hoopla, but then they are gone in a year or so. Too bad. Some were pretty good. I guess it would beehoove these potential restauranteurs to do some market research first.

If they stink, they won’t make it. Unlike 20 years ago, there are lots of choices nowadays.

I wanted to try this place with my family of 6, but they were close each time I wanted to venture out. They had very strange hours and closed at 4pm?? Not very conducive to people who wanted to each dessert and walk around downtown Leesburg during peak hours.
