IT’S OFFICIAL: CLAIBORNE PARKWAY RIBBON CUTTING JANUARY 9

The final stretch of the road provides a major north-south corridor in Ashburn.

It’s official. The long-awaited opening of the final stretch of Claiborne Parkway in Ashburn will take place next Wednesday, January 9.

The confirmation came this morning along with an invitation for the public to join county and local officials at the event (see below). It will take place at 8:30 a.m. Per the instructions, you will actually drive down the new roadway to reach the ceremony site.

The road will open to regular traffic sometime after the ribbon cutting, providing a major new north-south corridor between Brambleton and the rest of Ashburn.

Can you update us on Bungalow Ale House, please? Seems to be moving very slowly!

I checked a few weeks ago. It is still moving forward. I heard that they ran into some permitting delays, which is not uncommon.

Hopefully they will have cleaned up all the goose poop that is on it now for the massive flock of geese that have been hanging out in the median lately.

We really could use a sidewalk on the northbound lanes of Claiborne between Croson and Park Glen.
