Big news on the restaurant scene — Newk’s Eatery, a large national restaurant chain, has chosen Sterling as the spot for their first Virginia location. It’s slated to open in the new Shoppes at Potomac Corner center on Route 7.
Newk’s is a chain based out of Mississippi. They have roughly 125 restaurants open or in the works across the southeastern United States.
The Newk’s menu is filled with pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads, mac and cheeses and more. You order at a counter and then your food is brought out to you. Similar in concept to a Panera, but not quite the same.
The Shoppes at Potomac Corner is currently home to Sterling’s SouvlakiBar. It’s at the corner of Route 7 and Potomac View Road.
The center is right next to the Cascades Overlook center, kitty corner from NOVA Community College and across Route 7 from the new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet that is getting ready to open soon.

Forgot to mention that the founders are the same founders for the popular McCallister’s chain! Once I saw that on their site, I knew this was going to be a tasty place!
McCallister’s? I hope you don’t mean like the one in Herndon, which is disgusting.
This place is amazing! I use to regular their original location. Everything on the menu is amazing!
Any news? It’s no longer listed on their website on “future sight” 🙁
Haven’t heard anything else. It was definitely listed as coming soon on the Newk’s website. I took screen grabs of it. So not sure why it disappeared. Either a) the web folks got ahead of themselves and announced the move into VA before the company was ready or b) the deal somehow fell through. We’ll keep an eye on it.
Its Still listed on their website as coming soon as of 2/22
