BRIAR WOODS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL KILLED IN CAR CRASH

Tragic news for the Briar Woods High school community in Ashburn. A car accident this week took the life of an assistant principal at the school.

According to media reports, 37 year-old Jonathan Kite lost control of his vehicle while driving in Page County. He struck another vehicle and was killed in the collision. The other driver perished as well.

Briar Woods principal Chris O’Rourke shared the news with the school community today.

“I am sorry to inform you of the passing of one our assistant principals, Jonathan Kite, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident Monday afternoon in Page County. Jonathan made an indelible mark on our community since joining the Briar Woods administrative team two years ago after serving at Potomac Falls High School and with the central administration. I will let you know about services for Jonathan when that information becomes available.  Counseling staff will be on hand at Briar Woods to speak with anyone who may need some assistance during this difficult time.”

The Burn extends its sympathies to the family of Jonathan Kite and the Briar Woods community.
