The ever revolving line-up of chefs and vendors at Chefscape is a rich buffet for local food lovers. From soul food to Korean, Colombian, Hawaiian and more. Now comes word that another hot food trend is making its way to the Leesburg food hall and incubator — acai bowls.
Makaw Bowl will begin serving a variety of decadent açaí bowls there when they open at 8 a.m. on July 27. The first 50 people in line on opening day will receive a free small bowl of their choice.
Acai bowls are a healthy food item made of acai berries in the form of a thick smoothie. It’s topped with oats, bananas, peanut butter and other toppings and is eaten with a spoon. Acai is considered a super fruit with purported health benefits. It’s most often eaten at breakfast. Makaw Bowl will also be offering Blue Chia Pudding bowls.
This is the first location for Makaw Bowl. Besides serving customers at Chefscape, their bowls and other items will be available for delivery via UberEATS. Chefscape is located in the Village Leesburg center.
