Leesburg Shopping Center to get Makeover

The former Village Square will soon have a new look to go with its new name.

One of Leesburg’s oldest strip malls should soon be getting a more modern make-over. The forty year-old Shoppes at Kings Corner — formerly known as Village Square — has new renderings out of what the redesign should look like.

The center is located at the intersection of South King Street and Catoctin Circle. It includes a 7-Eleven,  the excellent SouvlakiBar greek restaurant and Wishbone Rotisserie as well as a Safeway supermarket and a Roy Rogers restaurant across the street.

The center was built in 1979, according to county records. For many years, it was known as Village Square, but when new owners bought it in 2016, they gave it a new name as well.

Now, it’s time to give it a new look. Images show a more updated, sleek design is in the works. The redesign is currently scheduled to happen in 2020.
