Ground broken at new Ashburn Senior Center

The facility will include a fitness room, a game room and classrooms.

Local leaders held a ceremonial ground breaking for the future Ashburn Senior Center today. It will be a 15,000 s.f. facility for adults age 55 and over. The center will be located on Marblehead Drive next to Potomac Green Neighborhood Park in Ashburn.

According to Broad Run District Supervisor Ron Meyer — whose office was integral in getting the project off the ground —  planned features for the center include:

  • a small gymnasium
  • a large multipurpose room with pickleball courts
  • a commercial kitchen
  • a fitness room
  • classrooms
  • a game room
  • a computer lab
  • an arts-and-crafts room
  • restrooms and storage areas

Construction is expected to take roughly 18 months. The new Ashburn Senior Center should be finished around March or April of 2021.

Just curious, who is the management/ownership group behind this project? Does anyone know?
