Gluten-free, nut-free bakery and bistro opening soon in Ashburn

The countdown is on to the opening of The Difference Baker, the new bakery, bistro and shared kitchen in Ashburn specializing in gluten-free and nut-free baked goods and to-go dinners. And we’ve got your first look at their menu too (see below).

Ashburn residents have been buzzing about The Difference Baker ever since The Burn reported about it back in July. The kitchen in the shop will be entirely gluten-free, peanut-free and tree nut-free.

Lauren Katz, an Ashburn resident and award-winning bakery chef, is working with The Difference Baker to develop their recipes and treats.

The Burn got a sneak peek inside The Difference Baker, which is located on Ashburn Road in Old Ashburn. Guests can choose items from a display case that will be filled with goodies.  There will be coffees and cold brew too, and besides a few indoor seats, there will be an outside patio with tables as well.

There will also be a refrigerated cooler stocked with ready-to-bake meals like Chicken Pot Pies, Baked Ziti and Tortilla Wraps.

The official grand opening will be in late November, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the eager team at The Difference Baker started baking sooner than that. So stay tuned.
