Video: Golf cart barn goes up in flames at 1757 Golf Club

Initial reports say it’s a barn or storage building on the property.

(Updated: 4:03 p.m.)

A large fire at the 1757 Golf Club on Waxpool Road between Ashburn and Sterling destroyed a storage building where the course’s golf carts are kept.

According to Loudoun County Fire & Rescue, the call came in at 12:28 p.m. and by the time fire crews arrived, there was significant structural damage to the building. So fire crews battled the blaze from the outside.

WJLA Channel 7 flew their news chopper over the scene. Here is the video from their social media feed.

No word yet on how many golf carts were lost, or the cost of the damage.

Golf cart storage building. 60 Golf carts in there burning with exploding batteries. Sounds like a mess

I work at 1757 and was there throughout the fire. Super kudos to all the fire, rescue, and police personnel who came to contain the blaze. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the building was away from the main buildings in the complex.
