The V Eatery closes its doors in Ashburn

The restaurant was located on Waxpool Road next door to the Embassy Suites hotel.

The V Social Eatery and Brewhouse in Ashburn has closed its doors after nearly eight years in business on Waxpool Road. We’re told employees were notified last Friday that the restaurant was closing.

The V was located in the Ashburn Restaurant Plaza next to the Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites hotels. That’s the same plaza that has Moe’s Southwest Grill and Five Guys.

A sign on the door reads, in part: “We have made the management decision to close The V Eatery and Brewhouse. Unfortunately, we have not been able to re-negotiate a lease that will be beneficial to the long-term success of the establishment.”

No word on what will go into the prime spot. It’s nearly 8,ooo s.f. of restaurant space on a busy roadway, next door to two large hotels. Fingers crossed it will be something new, exciting, and most importantly, good.

Can’t believe this place hung on for eight years, to be brutally honest…

8 yrs? Thought it was less than that! Management of shopping center don’t really care about the viability of businesses for the long term…they want businesses to pay the maximum rent at all times which is why they have such high turnover of their anchor store. Let it be a warning to new businesses who want to move in that they, at some point, will have to move out (relocate) or close down because of high rents. I wouldn’t want to open up then have to move. It’s a loss on both sides and now center management loses revenue for awhile until they find another sucker to move in.

This place started out good, good food, service…but a few years in and both food and service went downhill. Tough location and need a landlord willing to work with businesses. There are many bad landlords in the area. They’d rather have businesses leave and have many empty sites(which I think makes the center look bad).
