Cafe Hyderabad opens in Ashburn

The restaurant took over the Frankiberri Fusion space.

A new Indian restaurant has opened in Ashburn, taking over a spot previously occupied by a combo frozen yogurt/sandwich shop. The new place is called Cafe Hyderabad. It’s named after a city in southern India.

Cafe Hyderabad describes itself thusly: “Come and Enjoy Asli Hyderabadi food. Enjoy your favorite Irani Chai with Osmania Biscuit, Goat Paya, Hyderabadi Biryanis. Tiffins, snacks, bakery items, Chat station with live pani puri.”

The new restaurant is located in the Shops at Moorefield Village near the intersection of Mooreview Parkway and Loudoun County Parkway. It’s located next door to Harris Teeter and took over the space previously occupied by Frankiberri Fusion, an eatery that served up frozen yogurt and ice cream but also pizza, wings, and sub sandwiches as well.

We believe Cafe Hyderabad previously operated under a different name — Bahar’s Swagath — inside Global Foods, a former Ashburn grocery store, before eventually relocating to Moorefield Village after Global Foods closed.

Not the best of times to open a new restaurant. Wishing them luck regardless.
