LA Fitness in Ashburn postpones opening until at least April

The coronavirus has shut down the brand across the country.

Ashburn’s new LA Fitness Signature Club was supposed to be celebrating its grand opening this week. Instead, the LA Fitness brand has closed its gyms nationwide until at least April 1 in order to help fight the spread of the coronavirus.

This includes the new Ashburn club, which is located in the Broadlands Village Center, at Claiborne Parkway and Broadlands Boulevard.

The Ashburn location is all ready to go — the equipment is all in place, the staff is all hired. The Burn gave you a sneak peek tour of the facility just a little over a week ago. (See story and photos here.) But the declaration of a pandemic and a national emergency in the United States has changed everything.

Managers tell us the current current club shutdown tentatively goes to April 1, but the brand will be re-evaluating that as new information on the pandemic comes out. As soon as they are given the all-clear, they will open the new Ashburn facility and start welcoming guests.

The gym features an open floor plan with a main large room featuring free weights, resistance machines and aerobic machines such as treadmills and ellipticals.
