Sign up at Ashburn’s first Filling Co. Gas & Grub store

The new brand is from the same family that owns Rubino’s Pizzeria.

The sign has gone up at the first Filling Co. Gas & Grub location in Ashburn. It’s a new convenience store brand being created by the owners of the Rubino’s Pizzeria family of restaurants. Besides gas pumps out front, the Filling Co. will also offer a wide variety of freshly-prepared foods. Espresso beverages, acai bowls, breakfast sandwiches, fresh dough pizza, cheesesteaks, hoagies, burgers, and grilled Sabrett hot dogs are just some of the items planned for the menu.

The Burn first broke the news about the Filling Co. back in April when we reported that the Rubino family was bringing their new gas station and c-store concept to two different locations in Ashburn — one near Route 7 at the Ashbrook Marketplace shopping center, the other in the Brambleton Town Center.

The Ashbrook Marketplace location is where the new sign has recently been mounted on the facade of the store. Meanwhile, a new monument sign with both the Filling Co. and the familiar Shell logo on it still stands in its crate on the site. Meanwhile, fuel pumps have been partially installed and progress at the site is moving quickly. Barring something unforeseen, look for this first Filling Co. Gas & Grub location to open later this summer.

The Brambleton location has yet to break ground, but when it opens, it is expected to be the first gas station actually in Brambleton — something local residents have waited years for. The original target was to have this location open by the end of 2020 but it’s not clear if that timeline still holds.
