New coffee shop will carry sweets from Palmier Pastries

The maker of fine pastries and cakes is a popular vendor at local farmer’s markets.

The news about Weathervane Coffee — opening soon at the Goose Creek Village shopping center in Ashburn — just got a little sweeter. That’s because the shop will carry pastries and treats from Palmier Pastries & Cakes, a Loudoun-based gourmet bakery.

Palmier Pastries & Cakes currently works out of the Chefscape food incubator facility. The provide fine pastries and cakes across the Greater Washington DC region. Many locals may already be familiar with Palmier’s sweet flavors. They are regulars at farmer’s markets in Loudoun.

Weathervane’s founder and head roaster, Paul Large, tells us he’s partnered with Palmier and looks forward to carrying their muffins, breads, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies in his new coffee shop.

The Burn first told you about Weathervane’s plans back in June. If all goes as planned, they hope to open their new shop sometime in October. It’s going into a space on the first floor in one of the buildings at The Heights at Goose Creek Village, a new apartment complex with ground floor retail on the south side of Sycolin Road at Belmont Ridge.

In the meantime, Weathervane has started offering its java from a pop-up kiosk outside their future location. It’s scheduled to be there each Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. It’s a chance for people who live and work in the Goose Creek area to get a preview of what Weathervane will be bringing to its new location soon.
