Latest issue of Ashburn Magazine arriving soon

Feature stories include a look at a local puppy raised to help others.

The latest issue of Ashburn Magazine is headed to local mailboxes, grocery stores, libraries and many more locations and it should start arriving as soon as this weekend. It’s another great issue filled with stories about the people and places that make Ashburn such an interesting place.

The cover story — “Puppy with a Purpose” — introduces you to a local family that took on the task of raising a puppy — knowing they were going to eventually give him away so he could become a trained service dog for a person with a special need.

Other stories in this issue include “Luck-y Birds” — a look at a family of peregrine falcons that made their home in the Luck Stone Quarry off Belmont Ridge Road, “Death at the Toll House” — a shocking shooting that happened more than 80 years ago at a famous local landmark, and “A Trick of the Light” — the winning entry in the magazine’s first-ever creative writing contest for Ashburn students. It’s a spooky story that will give you goosebumps.

Ashburn Magazine is published bi-monthly by Rappahannock Media and is delivered to more than 13,000 Ashburn homes. It is also available for pick-up at roughly 100 locations around the community. A full list of sites can be found here.
