Ribbon cutting held for new Honey Bee Creamery in Ashburn

The new ice cream shop is located in Old Ashburn.

Local leaders and representatives from the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce gathered Friday afternoon in Ashburn for the official opening of the new Honey Bee Creamery ice cream shop. The sweet shop — which also sells gourmet chocolates and other treats — is on Ashburn Road in Old Ashburn.

Honey Bee Creamery is making waves with its new N2Gen ice cream. Basically, liquid nitrogen is mixed with a sweet cream to make a flash frozen ice cream. It takes about 30 seconds and is super cream-ified.

The shop also has regular hand-scooped ice creams and Italian ices as well as gourmet chocolates from Vertias Artizen Chocolates.

The shop is located in a tiny shopping center right by the W&OD Trail and across the street from the Ashburn Fire Department. It previously was the location of JR’s Soft Serve and before that a Hershey ice cream shop.

Thanks for the great article. It was a great event. We’re so grateful to our customers for supporting us through this transition, especially during this challenging time through the pandemic. We were so happy to have representatives from the Loudoun Chamber, Economic Development, and the Board of Supervisors. Chair Randall showed up and really enhanced the fun and show of support. Loudoun County is a wonderful place to own a business!
