Arsenal of Democracy flyover postponed due to weather

The organization behind the event hopes to try again tomorrow — Saturday, September 26.

The flyover of dozens of vintage World War II planes that was scheduled for this morning in DC has been postponed until at least tomorrow, Saturday, September 26 due to weather conditions.

The organization behind the flyover made the announcement on social media — “Well, we tried, but we never got the weather visibility we needed for the #ww2flyover so today’s flight is off. The weather was supposed to clear in time but it never cooperated with us so we will try again tomorrow at 11:30am EDT. Stay tuned for announcements in the morning. When we know, you’ll know! Keep your fingers crossed.”

Many Loudoun residents were excited for the event because the planes were planning on staging 10 miles west of Leesburg and were going to fly over the county on their way to the Potomac River and inbound to the National Mall.
