Urbano Modern Italian opens for business in Sterling

The fast-casual Italian restaurant features breakfast dishes as well as a lunch and dinner menu.

Urbano Modern Italian, the new fast-casual Italian restaurant in Sterling’s Cascades Overlook shopping center, has opened for business. They are currently holding a “soft” opening to give their team a chance to make sure their systems are running smoothly.

The Burn first broke the news about Urbano earlier this month. The new concept features coffee, pastries and breakfast sandwiches in the morning and then transitions to chef-prepared Italian dishes at lunch and dinner. Customers order at a counter and then have a seat while their food is prepared. There are a handful of tables inside and a large number of outdoor tables on the restaurant’s patio. Urbano is also offering carry out.

The Urbano Modern Italian menu includes dishes such as Cacio e Pepe Arancini, Autumn Minestrone Soup, Pork Milanese and a Chicken Piadina which features lemon herb chicken, roasted tomato, mozzarella and peperonata, folded on a flatbread like a sandwich. You can see the full Urbano Modern Italian menu here.

Cascades Overlook is located at the intersection of Benedict Drive and Bartholomew Fair Drive, a block or two off Route 7. It’s the same shopping plaza that includes a Harris Teeter grocery store, Chuy’s Tex-Mex and Burton’s Grill. Urbano has taken over the space previously occupied by Colada Shop, a Cuban coffee shop.
