La Prensa Tacos & Tapas readies for opening in Sterling

The new restaurant comes from the creator of The Conche in Leesburg.

La Prensa, the new fast-casual tacos and tapas restaurant coming to Sterling, is getting ready to open. The Burn has a sneak peek inside and your first look at La Prensa’s menu.

The restaurant is a hybrid of sorts — upscale dishes and cocktails, but in a more casual setting where the customer places an order at the counter before taking a seat. And in this time of the coronavirus pandemic, carry out and delivery will be a big part of the equation as well.

The La Prensa menu is divided into two main parts. On the “taco” side, customers can choose from 10 different meats or toppings and then have them served with corn tortillas, sopes or gorditas. There are also enchiladas and quesadillas. The other half of the menu are the “tapas” — with Spanish classics such as patatas bravas, croquetas de jamón and gambas al ajillo. (See the full menu below.)

La Prensa is opening in the Nokes Plaza development just off Nokes Boulevard near the Dulles Town Center shopping mall. It’s tucked in between the Burger 21 and the Nothing Bundt Cakes shop. The restaurant is the brainchild of celebrity chef Santosh Tiptur, owner of The Conche in Leesburg. He hopes to officially open La Prensa’s doors the first week in December.
