One Loudoun livestreaming Saturday’s tree lighting event

The annual ceremony takes place on the center’s main plaza.

New York City has the tree at Rockefeller Center and it looks like the Ashburn area has the tree at One Loudoun. Today, Saturday, December 5, the popular lifestyle center will be hosting a Virtual Tree Lighting to help ring in the holiday season.

The center, which is at the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Russell Branch Parkway, has held a tree lighting event for many years now. It usually features big crowds. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the spiking numbers in Loudoun County and elsewhere, this year’s ceremony is going online.

Reps for the center say there will be a livestream of the event today at 5 p.m. at the One Loudoun Facebook page (click here). Santa Claus is expected to put in an appearance and help light the decorated two-story tall tree standing in the plaza in front of the Alam0 Drafthouse.
