The eagerly anticipated Hot Pot Legend restaurant at One Loudoun has announced an opening date. The new Chinese-style hot pot restaurant will open their doors for a “soft opening” on Saturday, January 16. A soft opening usually occurs prior to a grand opening and allows the staff to make sure all the restaurant’s systems are working smoothly.
The One Loudoun location — which has taken over the Aggio space near the Russell Branch Parkway entrance to the center — is the second Hot Pot Legend in the United States. The first opened a few years ago in Rockville, Maryland. There are reportedly some 80 locations in China.
The menu at Hot Pot Legend is based on a heated broth bowl in the center of the table where proteins and other ingredients are cooked by the customer. Think fondue only broth, instead of oil or cheese. Typical hot pot items include thinly sliced meats, leaf vegetables, wontons, seafood, tofu and egg dumplings. You can see the Rockville menu here.
