A new New York-style bagel shop formally opened its doors this morning in downtown Leesburg. Bender’s Bagels is coming from the same folks behind Tarbender’s Lounge, a local night spot on South King Street. The bagel shop is operating from the Tarbender’s space with morning and noon hours.
The opening is technically a soft opening — that means they do it quietly in order to make sure their systems all work right and their staff gets a chance to learn the ropes. The menu at Benders (see below) includes bagels with a variety of cream cheeses, as well as bagel breakfast sandwiches and pizza bagels.
