Tentative opening date announced for Leesburg At Home store

The huge store is one of the anchors at the growing Compass Creek development.

The new At Home home decor superstore in Leesburg has told The Burn they are aiming for a soft opening on February 24. The roughly 88,000 s.f. store is one of the anchors at the Compass Creek development off 267.

The exterior signs have gone up at the building, which sits next to the new Leesburg Walmart store. Construction started more than a year ago, but was temporarily delayed during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction work resumed on the store last fall after a hiatus of several months.

We’re told the store hopes to be ready by February 24 when they plan on holding a soft opening. As regular readers of The Burn know, a soft opening is when a new business quietly opens its doors without a lot of hoopla and fanfare. It’s meant as a time for staff to get their feet wet and for managers to make sure their systems are firing on all cylinders. A grand opening is usually scheduled after that.

At Home is a Texas-based brand with more than 200 locations in roughly 40 states. Other future businesses announced for Compass Creek include a gas station, a hotel, a Buffalo Wing Factory and a dental practice. There is also reportedly a Starbucks in the works although the developers have not confirmed that.
