It looks like the temporary closure at O’Faolain’s Irish Restaurant & Pub in Sterling has become permanent. The Facebook page for the longtime local gathering spot now says “Permanently Closed” and the phone number to O’Faolain’s has been disconnected.
The pub, located in the Regal Center shopping plaza off Route 7, closed in the spring of 2020 along with nearly every other restaurant and bar in the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. But as other restaurants slowly started re-opening, O’Faolain’s chose not to. They posted several times on social media about the tough decisions they were facing.
Now, fast forward eight months later, and it appears those glasses won’t be clinking again as the popular pub appears to be closed for good. We’ve reached out to the landlord and the O’Faolain’s team for any further details, but gotten no response. If we find out anything different, we will let you know.
That’s a total bummer. I’ve spent many an afternoon on the side patio on a nice day having a drink. I’ve had a few evenings enjoying the one man band as well. Good food as well.
This is one of the very few local places where the closure truly bums me out.
Good work Governor Northam!
Good work, science-denying Trumpers.
Not his fault. The restaurant chose not to reopen while others did. Quit being a lil trumpie whiner Karen
This is very sad to hear as my husband and son and I have enjoyed many meals here and a memorable Mother’s Day brunch. The staff was always great and very welcoming. We will miss them greatly!
