GoGi 92 Korean BBQ in Leesburg shares progress update

The new restaurant is coming to the Village at Leesburg.

Korean barbecue fans have something to celebrate today — our first look at GoGi 92, the new K-BBQ restaurant coming to the Village at Leesburg. The eagerly anticipated restaurant has provided its first update in more than a year.

The Burn first broke the news about GoGi 92 back in January 2020. Work on the restaurant was ready to start rolling early last year and then the pandemic hit. Like so many other restaurant projects around Loudoun, GoGi 92 appeared to hit the pause button.

But now construction is underway and the powers-that-be have shared photos of the partially finished dining room on social media. Readers can see the tables with the holes in the center that will soon accommodate the heated surfaces that cook food right in front of you — the staple of the Korean barbecue experience. Prime rib, duck, pork belly and beef short ribs are some of the meats common to the cuisine.

The GoGi 92 team says it’s too soon to pinpoint an opening date, but thanks to their update, we know they are getting closer.
