YamaChen’s Sushi House coming to Sterling

The Virginia-based brand has a dozen locations around the state.

A Virgina-based chain of Japanese sushi restaurants is opening its latest location in Sterling. It’s called YamaChen’s Sushi House and it’s taking an 1,800 s.f. space in the Shoppes at Potomac Corner.

We’re told there are a dozen YamaChen locations currently, most or all of them in Virginia. They are concentrated in the Virginia Beach area, but there is one location that opened last year in Fairfax. The Sterling store will be No. 13. The menu at YamaChen’s is filled with sushi rolls and sashimi, as well as other dishes such as Pork Ramen, Shrimp Tempura and Fire Chicken. You can see the full YamaChen menu here.

The Shoppes at Potomac Corner is a small center facing Route 7 at the intersection with Potomac View Road. It’s the same center with a SouvlakiBar Greek restaurant and the former home of a Newk’s Eatery. The folks at YamaChen’s tell us they are targeting an October opening for the new Sterling location.
