True Food Kitchen at Reston Town Center announces opening date

The popular restaurant focuses on healthy ingredients and recipes.

The much-anticipated True Food Kitchen restaurant coming to the Reston Town Center now has an official opening date. The national brand of healthy dining restaurants has announced the Reston location will open on April 28.

The new restaurant has been under construction for more than a year in the spot of a former steakhouse. There was a pause in construction for part of 2020 that was likely influenced by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The True Food brand was founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, a proponent of healthy eating with a focus on greens, vegetables, fruits and proteins that help fight chronic inflammation. Many of the dishes are gluten-free as well as vegetarian or vegan. Some of the menu items include Edamame Dumplings, Grilled Chicken and Mozzarella Panini, a Roasted Squash & Ricotta Panini and Grilled Sustainable Salmon. There are also craft cocktails, beer and hard seltzers. You can see the full menu here.

Loudoun fans of True Food Kitchen have had to travel to the brand’s Fairfax or Arlington locations, but the RTC will now be the closest one. There are more than 40 True Food Kitchens around the country.

It’s not. It’s at the other end of that same block, in the former M&S Grill spot.

Yes. It was called the M&S Grill. That’s short for McCormick & Schmick’s.

Reston Town center is a ghost town compared to years ago due to Boston Properties ignorance. 25% of Sq Ft sits empty/boarded up, with more businesses likely to close after lease is up. But hey, there is lots of parking spots available for a fee.
